Hōgakukan Kenpō Kenkyūjo
Aiming for constitutional research and promotion of the constitution, the Japan Institute of Constitutional Law (法学館憲法研究所) was founded in 2002 by Makoto Itō, a lawyer and the founder of a cramming school for the national bar examination, Itō-juku (伊藤塾).
The institute's website is very large and contains an online database of numerous books and theses regarding constitutions. On their website, the institute also introduces a series of articles explaining constitution-related issues for junior and senior high school students, as well as a large amount of constitution-related movements, articles, events, court judgments, and movies.
In 2015, Itō published a statement to call for cancellation of the security bills, collecting signatures on the institute’s website.
